Job Description

Relapath is currently seeking candidates for a direct-hire position in Myrtle Beach, SC! In this position, you will work for a well-respected health organization in a direct-hire role offering a competitive salary and excellent benefit package! 

Position Summary:
As part of the clinical team, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accompanying patients to exam rooms
  • Preparing patients for exams
  • Performing and documenting vital signs
  • Assisting with procedures
  • Preparing and administering medications with physician’s authorization
  • Performing EKGs
  • Using CPR skills when required
  • Drawing blood/phlebotomy
  • Providing patient education with regards to office policies, medication, and management of disease, home treatments, and special diets.
  • Other duties may include retrieval of lab and x-ray reports, calling in prescriptions, telephone triage, obtaining referrals and authorizations, completing medical forms and other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for ordering medical and office supplies, stocking exam rooms, cleaning rooms, cleaning instruments, disposing of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards, and performing accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times, and adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, required.

  • Minimum of five (5) years in a physician office setting, preferred.

  • American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed within 30 calendar days of hire date. BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.

License/Certification:

Certification from nationally recognized agency, required. Accepted agencies and certifications include:

  • National Healthcareer Association – Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA)

  • American Medical Technologists – Medical Assistant (RMA)

  • National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)

  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

Skills:

  • Computer knowledge, required.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task, required.

  • Phlebotomy skills and experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements: Light Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, walk; use hands, fingers; talk, hear.
The employee must exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
