Position Summary:
As part of the clinical team, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent, required.
Minimum of five (5) years in a physician office setting, preferred.
American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed within 30 calendar days of hire date. BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.
License/Certification:
Certification from nationally recognized agency, required. Accepted agencies and certifications include:
National Healthcareer Association – Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA)
American Medical Technologists – Medical Assistant (RMA)
National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
Skills:
Computer knowledge, required.
Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task, required.
Phlebotomy skills and experience, preferred.
Physical Requirements: Light Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating
Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, walk; use hands, fingers; talk, hear.
The employee must exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
