Helm Point Solutions is a woman-owned cybersecurity and physical security firm supporting the nation’s most critical systems and infrastructure. We’re seeking detail-oriented, security-cleared Cloud Software Engineer to support a program in the Ft. Meade area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and availability of large-scale cloud-based data systems and distributed processing environments.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain the integrity, security, and availability of large-scale cloud-based Big Data systems .
Implement and optimize distributed processing workflows across the Hadoop ecosystem (e.g., HDFS, MapReduce, Spark, Hive).
Perform performance analysis, tuning, troubleshooting, and monitoring of cloud and data processing environments .
Contribute to back-end data processing, analysis, and indexing to support high-volume, mission-critical applications.
Develop and implement policies and best practices to ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud-based systems.
Evaluate and integrate COTS/GOTS and open-source tools into cloud environments to improve performance and reduce development costs.
Support the software lifecycle , including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
At least three (3) years of hands-on experience as a software engineer working with cloud-based or distributed systems .
At least three (3) years of experience developing with Java and applying Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles.
