Electrical Designer

Contract to Hire | Brooklyn Park, MN | $35 - $40/hour

The Electrical Designer is responsible for creating and developing electrical and control system designs for custom equipment. This role focuses on producing accurate electrical schematics and layouts that meet project requirements, safety standards, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe working environment at all times
• Generate electrical drawings and schematics based on P&IDs and I/O lists
• Research and specify components for new and existing designs
• Review customer specifications and compile project documentation
• Assist with panel shop activities as needed
• Collaborate with field service teams to provide technical support and troubleshooting
• Ensure designs stay within project budgets and timelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Associate’s degree in electrical or controls engineering (or equivalent experience) preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical strongly preferred
• Familiarity with PLC and HMI programming is a plus
• Knowledge of UL standards and the National Electrical Code (NEC)
