Job Title: Human Resources (HR) ManagerLocation: Young Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC of Owosso, MIJob Type: Full-Time Position Overview: Young Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC of Owosso is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to lead and manage all aspects of human resources functions within our dealership. This position plays a crucial role in shaping workplace culture, ensuring compliance, and supporting employee engagement, recruitment, and development in a dynamic automotive retail environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: * Lead full-cycle recruitment for all dealership departments (sales, service, parts, finance, admin). * Partner with hiring managers to define staffing needs, create job postings, and conduct interviews. * Develop pipelines for key roles and maintain positive candidate experiences. 2. Employee Relations & Engagement: * Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee concerns, resolving conflicts with fairness and discretion. * Foster a positive work environment aligned with company values and culture. * Plan employee recognition programs, team events, and initiatives that improve morale and retention. 3. HR Administration & Compliance: * Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, benefits, and payroll documentation. * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (EEOC, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, etc.). * Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and disciplinary processes with professionalism and consistency. 4. Performance Management & Training: * Support managers in performance review processes and goal-setting. * Identify training and development needs; coordinate or deliver training sessions. * Guide leadership on employee coaching and progressive discipline strategies. 5. Benefits & Compensation: * Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.). * Assist employees with benefits-related questions or issues. * Work with payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification preferred). * 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in the automotive, retail, or service industry. * Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices. * Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills. * Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, or similar). * High level of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
