This role focuses on managing batch workloads, file transfer operations, and system integrations within a z/OS environment.
In this position, the Mainframe Developer works closely with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure seamless data movement using IBM Sterling ConnectDirect and related protocols. The role requires strong technical expertise in JCL, batch processing, and core mainframe subsystems.
The Mainframe Developer plays a key role in ensuring system reliability, performance optimization, and adherence to operational standards while supporting business-critical workloads.
Key Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and support mainframe batch jobs and JCL processes.
Manage and troubleshoot file transfers using IBM Sterling ConnectDirect and standard protocols such as FTP and SFTP.
Support z/OS mainframe environments, ensuring system stability and performance.
Monitor and resolve batch processing issues, failures, and scheduling dependencies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application integrations and data exchanges.
Work with mainframe subsystems such as CICS, DB2, and TCP/IP to support application functionality.
Ensure compliance with security, operational, and documentation standards.
Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance activities.
Proficiency with IBM Sterling ConnectDirect (formerly NDM)
Strong experience in mainframe environments, particularly z/OS
Solid knowledge of JCL and batch processing frameworks
Familiarity with secure file transfer protocols (FTP, SFTP)
Working knowledge of mainframe technologies such as CICS, DB2, and TCP/IP
