Summary Small Steps Childcare is seeking a dependable, flexible, and enthusiastic Floating Teacher to join our team! This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working with a variety of age groups. As a Floating Teacher, you?ll assist lead teachers or step into a lead role as needed, ensuring that classrooms run smoothly and that children are cared for, engaged, and supported.
Duties Provide support in classrooms ranging from infants to school-age children.
Step in as a lead teacher when needed, following lesson plans and daily schedules.
Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment.
Follow all center policies and state licensing regulations.
Foster positive, respectful communication with children, families, and team members.
Help with classroom transitions, lunch and snack service, rest time routines, and end-of-day cleaning.
Work collaboratively with all staff and contribute to a strong, supportive team culture.
Serve as a positive role model through kindness, motivation, and consistency.
Requirements Must be able to pass a background check
Experience in early childhood education preferred.
Ability to comfortably work with all age groups (infants through school age).
Dependable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing classroom needs.
Kind-hearted and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children.
Team player who communicates effectively and respectfully with staff and families.
