Job Description

The Blue Scorcher is a worker-owned cooperative. After six months of employment, you can become a member of the co-op and let your voice be heard on business decisions. If you want to work with us, please keep in mind that we want people who are motivated and care about the business! We are open to seasonal workers, but we really hope you'd like to stick around for a little while. Joining the cooperative also gives you the opportunity to train into other roles.

We are currently looking for someone to work the overnight pastry shift from 2:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Wednesday through Saturday. We are only hiring for this shift, so please do not apply if this schedule will not work for you. You will be earning $21 an hour until becoming a member of the co-op, and then you will receive $22 an hour for this shift.

Expectations and Requirements

• Produce cakes, cookies, sweet rolls, and laminated dough to a high and consistent standard
• Make prep items such as fillings and fillings
• Cake decorating experience is a plus
• Comfortable using both weights and volume measures in recipes
• Experience with vegan and gluten-free baking also a plus
• Demonstrate knowledge and willingness to follow hygiene, sanitation, and cross-contamination procedures
• Work closely with other members of the department to hand off tasks and provide feedback
• Interface with customers about special orders and custom cakes
• Availability to work 2:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Wednesday through Saturday.
