Position: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Duration: 7 Months (Contract)
Job Overview:
In this role, you'll provide professional and courteous support to healthcare providers, pharmacies, and patients over the phone. You'll handle prior authorization requests , review and process incoming documentation, and ensure all required information is accurately recorded. Clinical or judgment-based questions are escalated to the pharmacist team.
This is a high-volume call center environment that requires multitasking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take inbound calls from doctors, pharmacies, and members regarding medication authorizations.
- Process and review prior authorization requests received via fax or electronic portals.
- Enter and maintain accurate patient and prescription data in the system.
- Make outbound calls to follow up on missing information or documentation.
- Escalate clinical queries to licensed pharmacists when needed.
- Handle department emails and assist with other administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Active pharmacy technician license (in good standing).
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a high-volume call center , preferably within healthcare or pharmacy.
- 6+ months of experience working as a pharmacy technician or in prescription coordination.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and spreadsheets for documentation and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
