Overview

We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technicia n, sometimes referred to as a Pharmacy Tech or Outpatient Pharmacy Assistant . The Pharmacy Tech in our outpatient retail pharmacy supports pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, assisting patients, processing insurance claims, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate prescription records. They ensure efficient pharmacy operations and provide excellent patient care. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed .

Location : Mission Regional Medical Center - Mission, TX

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• P repare and dispense medications accurately based on prescriptions

• A ssist patients with prescription pick-ups, answering questions, and explaining medication instructions

• P rocessing insurance claims, handle billing, insurance verification, and resolving payment issues

• M anage stock, order supplies, and ensure medications are stored properly

• I nput prescription information into the pharmacy system

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers . You must have:

1. State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations)
2. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required or obtained within 6 months of hire
3. High school diploma or equivalent

4. Sterile Compounding Certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
1. Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred
2. Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program preferred
3. 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility)
