Skills utilized in the position include assessment, communication, teaching, leadership and management of patient nursing care within Diagnostic radiology, Special procedures, Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Must be qualified and prepared to handle all unexpected emergencies that occur during any radiological procedure. This position is also responsible for the development of clinical protocols, policies and procedures governing radiological interventional procedures, patient monitoring and drug administration. Must be familiar with patient's bill of rights and seek assistance from other resources when needed to ensure individualized care. Coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
